Episode 19: Scripture Memory Made Easy!
We all know Scripture memorization is a good thing to do, but for some of us, it might seem daunting. Today I am going to share with you 3 very easy ways to memorize the Word that will help you not only hide it in your heart, but really remember it!
Sing it!
Use hand motions
Write it!
Scriptures we talked about:
Psalms 119:9-18 NKJV
How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes.
With my lips I have declared
All the judgments of Your mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts,
And contemplate Your ways.
I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.
Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.
James 1:21 KJV
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Psalms 40:8 NKJV
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
Deut 6:6-9 NKJV
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Our question today is…
What are some ways you convey to your children your living faith in God, relationship with God?
Be sure YOU have a relationship with God.
Let them see you read the Word
Have conversations with the Lord when they’re around
Talk about what you’re learning, what God is showing you
Tell them testimonies from your own life—how you got saved, how your life changed with Jesus,
Make room for them to experience God with you
Listen to Jesus together
Read the Word together
Show them your authentic faith, and invite them into it by having them join you and training them as you go.
