Ask some friends
Neighbors
Notice young ladies/girls around you who love little kids
Chances are there are several girls around you who would LOVE to get some baby and little kid play time!
What do THEY do?
Whatever you need!
Talk about it ahead of time, set expectations
Mostly watching kids or helping around the house? Both?
What do YOU do?
Live your life with more help!
Teach your helper your ways
Hold the baby like this to help her tummy
The toddler loves playing blocks
Can you take the kids to play in the backyard while I put the baby to bed?
I’d like these towels folded this way
Can you cut up some lettuce and tomato for a salad?
Some things to think about
What do you need them to do?
Play with kids? Work in the house? Both?
Do you want to pay them?
Discuss with them and parents—not the same as a babysitting gig
What frequency and duration do you need?
Weekly? Twice-weekly?
2 hours? 4 hours?
Short-term or long-term?
Keep communication channels open!
Check in often (how are you doing with this?)
Assuming they’re young, communicate with parents too
Keep everyone’s expectations in the open (yours, parent’s, helper’s)
Change things as needed
