Episode 4: 7 Ways to Encourage Your Kids

Do you need some new ideas for how to encourage your kids? This episode is for YOU! Today we discuss 7 ways to encourage our kids (spoiler alert: they work on grownups too!). This is a fun-filled episode that I’m excited to share with you!

Things we talked about:

  • I Thessalonians 5:11 NLT “So encourage each other and build each other up…”

  • Isaiah 41: 9-10 NLT “For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

  • Ephesians 4:29 NIV “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

  • Proverbs 18:21NIV “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

7 ways to encourage your kids:

  1. Tell them “good job!” OFTEN (look for little things)

  2. Tell them what God thinks about them

  3. Tell them you’re glad they’re in your family

  4. Tell them you like them at random times

  5. Tell them they are beautiful/handsome

  6. Reward them when they do well

  7. Praise them in front of others

I answer the fabulous question from Megan: How do you get your kids to eat their veggies? This was a super popular question, so if you have more ideas that I didn’t cover, send me a message here so I can add them when we bring this question up again!
