A friend of mine asked me, “what are your favorite toys for kids at each age?” Since we are deep into the holidays, I thought now would be the perfect time to put together some gift ideas that you can use for the children in your life not only now, but any time!
Babies
When I shop for babies, I’m looking for things they can chew on, whack, and that will entertain their senses, besides being super cute. Being a mom, I like practical things for little babies as well!
My all-time favorite baby company to buy from is Ryan And Rose. Lindsey, the owner, has created some of the greatest teethers, pacifiers, clips, utensils, and more! She is unwavering in her commitment to quality and safety. Click here for $5 off your first order of $12 or more!
Toddlers
When choosing gifts for toddlers, I want things that will make them move, things that are easy to hold onto, and things that affirm their personhood, as they are growing into an understanding of themselves as individual people. Toddlers are so precious, and are in a very beautiful stage where they’re learning to nurture things.
Preschoolers and Kindergarteners
When I think about this age group, I’m drawn to things that will encourage them to use their imaginations, get curious about the world around them, and develop their gross motor skills. Here are some ideas!
Elementary Age Kids
The sky is the limit for this age! They are the perfect age to really engage their imaginations, nurture their spirits, and ignite their fine motor skills.
Junior High/Middle School
My heart for these kids is to give them things that will encourage them into young adulthood, while still keeping the magic innocence of their childhood. They are at an age to turn their childhood knowledge of God into a true relationship, and solidify the faith they have learned as little ones. They are also a great age to cultivate fun, and their blooming understanding of language and analogy makes great stories delightful and impacting.
High Schoolers
Young adults are coming into their own, so I like to give things that will encourage them to take their place in the world. Wisdom and inspiration from great stories and “I believe in your destiny” gifts are so meaningful, as well as fun things like a class to further them in a hobby.
